Weekend Rituals
The stress and pressure of living a busy urban lifestyle can take its toll on your overall health & wellbeing, which is why at Saint Iris we place such importance on our restorative weekend rituals. The things we do to ensure that our weekends help set us up for a week of feeling content! With plenty of fjaka and skincare pampering, we’re here to share our Weekend Rituals.
Relax After A Long Week
Feeling time-stressed? You’re definitely not alone… Unwinding properly after a long week is one of the most important ways to ensure your weekend is as relaxing as possible. Tasks like batch cooking some delicious & healthy meals for the week ahead (this one being a current favourite with everyone at Saint Iris) can be relaxing but also help you save time in the week. Spending an hour reading or listening to podcasts is another favourite way of ours to let the mind decompress after a busy work week.
Have A Pamper
Managing to fit in a dedicated pampering session can be a little tricky during the week, so the weekend gives us the perfect opportunity to indulge our skin. All of our products have been specially created to be as effective as possible for those short on time, making it easier than ever to incorporate a body care routine into your self care. In just three minutes, our Purity Paste can transform the skin to have an ethereal glow. Used on the face, neck, body or hands the mask quickly gets to work at gently exfoliating, leaving skin rejuvenated and refreshed (all with an incredibly relaxing aroma thanks to the Mediterranean cedar micro-dust). Follow up with a layer of the skin-softening Serenity Salve all over to cocoon the skin in a layer of long-lasting hydration.
Get The Body Moving
Getting the body moving helps to naturally release endorphins, flooding the body with feel-good chemicals; making time for it is one of our important weekend rituals to ensure we feel good throughout the week, too. One of our favourite activities is a yoga session. It’s the perfect way to move your body, and enjoying a yoga class in the morning tends to mean we’re relaxed for the rest of the day. Doing something new, such as going to new venues or attending a different level of class keeps it fresh and interesting. At our recent fjaka social, we worked with yoga teacher Ola to have a gentle movement session with a selection of our customers (if you’d like to be the first to know about upcoming classes with us, our newsletter is the best place to find out).
Embrace Fjaka
The entire ethos of Saint Iris is inspired by our Croatian heritage; fjaka is a way of life there, and it simply means the state of bliss one gets after doing what you love. Essentially, it’s taking the time to stop and completely embrace being in the moment. Complete and all-encompassing relaxation is the perfect weekend ritual, when we can all recharge and feel the benefit of fjaka. Getting wholely lost in yourself could potentially feel selfish at first but it’s time to lost the guilt whilst reaping the benefits. Taking the time to appreciate fjaka is a daily practice, but the weekend is the perfect time to explore the concept and see how beneficial it can be to your state of mind.
Until next time… Ciao x
